Radio KTDN: Achieving Tomorrow

--It's a kind of journey, but not a road trip.
--It's a kind of symphony, but by many composers.
--It's not a party, but it is celebratory.

Ktahdn, via Lord Chaos, has announced a special event: Achieving Tomorrow!
When: Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 KI Time

Duration: 4 hours
Where: Watcher's Sanctuary, MOULa.
Presenters: The Rooftop Volunteer Group, co-sponsored with the Cavern Gigglers' Association.

Music will be on Shoutcast. It is recommended to use any player except for VLC.

Link 1
Link 2 (if Link 1 doesn't work)

Music will be on the air for about an hour before the event for those that want to test their connection.  After the event, the D'ni Musicological Research hood will continue playing music on their own server to keep the good times going.

The URU Road Trip

Radio KTDN is hosting an event called "The URU Road Trip".  From Lord Chaos:

Do you remember...

...when you first heard the call?
...when you touched one of Yeesha's handprints?
...when you got the power on and heard the message?

...when you entered the tree?

Nothing can bring back the first time. There are, however, ways of re-creating those events. Let's take a road trip to Eddy County and continue the musical journey through the Cavern and some ages.

No matter where you start, there you are... and there's music. Join us for something a little different, even for Ktahdn.

Date: March 29, 2014
Time: 11:00 AM KI time (10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern, roughly 7PM European, depending on daylight savings)
Location: the Watcher's Sancutary (unless someone has a better idea)
Duration: 3:40 (not including announcements)

Tune in the music on Radio KTDN at

using any media player EXCEPT VLC, which for some reason won't work with this Shoutcast stream.
There will be leader music about an hour before the main show.

All Guilds Meeting - May 2013

[NOTE: We were able to recover what was lost in our logs!  Special thanks to Christian Walther, Korov'ev, and KathAveara for their help!]

Shorah to one and all!  Another All Guilds Meeting has passed and hopefully everyone is all caught up.  If not, here are the usual raw and cleansed chatlogs to help bring everyone up to speed.

Here's what happened:

Cavern Tours

Zeke365 spoke about the latest organized events to teach people about the various locations in the cavern and Age and the history that goes along with them.  Along with  r'Tayrtahn  and Stone, they will be having th eir final tour of this season on Tuesday, May 7th at 22:00 KI time (with people to start arriving at the top of the Great Stairs in Ae'gura at 21:30).  More tours are planned for the fall, as well as one or two that are during more European-friendly times.  See more at the MOUL forum thread here.

An Interview With Robyn Miller (Part 1)

The D'ni Musicological Research Hood had a very special treat for all of us Myst and URU fans on Friday, the 8th of February: They invited Robyn Miller for a Q&A and a discussion about the Myst games series and his part in creating them and also to discuss his other projects.

Robyn is the brother of Rand Miller and Ryan Miller, a co-founder of the game company Cyan, Inc. (now Cyan Worlds, Inc.), and the man who played Sirrus in the original Myst. He created the music for both Myst and Riven: The Sequel To Myst and has continued his career well beyond the world of D'ni.

In this interview, Robyn reflects on Myst and Riven, especially his "drive" in the creation of the games.  He chats about the creative process when composing the scores for both games and the tools he used, as well as the technical limitations he, Rand and the rest had to deal with at that time. Radio KTDN Blowout Broadcast!

Recently announced on the MOULa forums by Lord Chaos:

"This Saturday, October 6, will be the last formal Radio KTDN broadcast."

At approximately 11:00 ki-time an all day broadcast will begin featuring the hits and highlights of this amazing seven year run featuring over 500 shows. Reactions of the announcement have varied from nostalgic (Tai'lahr: "Suddenly all the memories are rising to the surface. Soooo many events in the cavern in which your show was not just a backdrop, but set the tone and took center stage.") to causiously bright and opitimistic (janaba: "We might as well still be dancing at the AGM!").
